Best Bilingual Minecraft Servers (EN + FR) in 2026
En français : Serveurs Minecraft francophones : où jouer en 2026
Search for a bilingual Minecraft server and you will find a lot of servers that describe themselves as EN and FR. Join one and it is usually an English server with a French channel in the Discord. That is not nothing, but it is not what people mean when they ask.
Here is what actually distinguishes a bilingual server, and how to test any of them yourself before you commit a hundred hours.
What bilingual should mean
The game speaks your language, not just the Discord. Menus, item names, buttons, confirmation prompts. If you open the shop and every label is English, the server is not bilingual, its community is.
Commands work in both languages. A French player should not have to memorise English verbs to play. If /home has no French equivalent, somebody decided French players could cope.
Moderation happens in both. This is the one nobody advertises and the one that matters most. When a player reports a griefer at two in the morning, do they write the report in their own language, and does the person reading it understand it? A server where support only functions in English has a second-class tier of players and has not noticed.
Nobody is the odd one out. The hardest part is not translation, it is having enough speakers of both languages online that neither group feels like a guest. That is a community problem, not a software one, and it is why so few servers get there.
The sixty second test
You can check any server against all four without playing it for a week.
- Join and open any menu. If the server has a language setting, it will usually be in the first menu or a
/langstyle command. Switch it. If the menu redraws in French, the work was actually done. If only some of it changes, you have found a half-finished translation. - Try a command in French. If the server offers French aliases, they exist for a reason. If it does not, ask in chat whether they are planned.
- Read the rules in game, not on the website. Websites get translated because they are marketing. In-game rules get translated because somebody cared.
- Ask a question in French in the main chat. Watch how long it takes to get an answer, and whether it comes from staff or from another player. That tells you about the community and the moderation in one move.
Run that on three servers and the differences stop being subtle.
NordikMC passes all four
Java: play.nordikmc.com · Bedrock: play.nordikmc.com, port 19132
You get paid from the second you log in, in either language. Mine a block, get paid. Chop a tree, farm, fish, hunt, dig, or just cover ground on foot. Level up and your land limit grows. Your first four chunks are free. Java and Bedrock share one world, so your phone gets all of it. It is a full survival SMP either way, not a lobby with a language toggle.
And every word of that is in French as well as English. Built bilingual from the first line of code, not translated afterwards. Every player-facing string exists in both. Command output. Menu labels. Error messages. Moderation. All of it, because it's one codebase written for this server instead of twenty marketplace plugins each handling language their own way, or not at all.
A French question in chat here is normal, not an interruption.
Every one of those systems speaks French. The confirmation when you claim your first four chunks of land. The market listings and their price history. The objective text on the quests you pick up each day. The announcement when a supply chest drops in the PvP world. Right down to the message somebody gets from moderation after they grief you.
There is no point on this server where you cross a line and the English quietly takes over. That is the whole difference, and it is why the list on this page is short.
The Alpha Set is gone forever after Season 1. The world resets once before Season 1, and the Alpha Set is what comes out the other side. Play during the alpha and it is yours on the Season 1 world, permanently, with the [Alpha] tag beside your name. The Alpha Wings join the set at Season 1. Then it is retired for good and never handed out again. There is one way to own it, and this is it.
The French-speaking core of this server is being formed right now, by whoever shows up before then.
- 100% custom-coded. Every plugin written for this server.
- EN + FR bilingual. In game and in moderation, not a Discord channel bolted on.
- Java + Bedrock crossplay. One world, both editions.
- No pay-to-win, ever. Looks and small comforts are the only things that will ever be for sale. Never gear, never stats, never money.
play.nordikmc.com. Go.
Why so few servers manage it
Translation is cheap. Two things behind it are not.
The first is that most servers run assembled plugins, and each plugin handles language its own way. Some ship a French file, some ship none, some ship one written by a machine years ago. Getting a consistent experience across twenty of those is harder than writing them, which is why almost nobody does it.
The second is moderation coverage. A bilingual rule set means nothing if every appeal is handled in one language. That needs people, in both languages, awake at different hours. It is the part that does not scale by adding a config file, and it is the honest reason the list of genuinely bilingual servers is short.
Getting in, in either language
Java takes the address on its own. Bedrock needs the port as well, which is the usual reason a Bedrock player cannot connect. Our step by step guide covers both editions, and it exists in English and in French, which is rather the point of this page.
